Organization: * Hello, I would like to find information of how to convert masslab GC-MS files to a format that can be read by MASSLIB or OPUS. I already got the suggestion to convert to JCAMP, EPA or Chemstation formats, and from there to MASSLIB or OPUS. ...but... how do I get there ?? Is there a conversion program tool available? Thank you very much in advance, F.M.S. Organization: * Florian: Opus software has it's own sub program to do these file conversions, I am running a slightly dated version of OPUS software which does not have the direct conversion of Masslab to OPUS files but newer versions may have. My older version has labbase to opus and jcamp to opus. Here is the procedure to follow: 1) Copy your files (jcamp for example) to the pdp directory under OPUS. 2) To convert the files to OPUS format click on the "automation" menu on the main OPUS window. Click on the "command file" button, then the "directory button". Choose the appropriate command (in this example JTOO, meaning Jcamp to Opus). 3) This will now do the conversion and place the Opus version of the jcamp file in the data directory that Opus was currently in (ex: opus.data) 4) The original unconverted files will be kept in the PDP directory, so you can delete them after you convert. Organization: * I believe ACD Software has a better overall solution. ACD/SpecManager with the MS Module will import low and high-resolution mass spectral data from HP, MassLynx, OpenLynx RPT, Xcalibur, Finnigan LCQ, PE SCIEX API to Piff, JCAMP, netCDF and Galactic formats. After processing, the files can be saved as an Experimental Spectrum File (*.esp that contains the assigned structure), text, Galactic (*.spc) and JCAMP (*.jdx or *.dx) formats. The processed spectra, and assigned structure, can be distributed using ACD's free SpecViewer software. I hope this helps. Regards, Peter Frank M.Sc.
