****************************************************************************** From: "Little, James L " Date: Fri, 16 Apr 1999 07:16:38 -0400 Subject: Methylamine Chemical Ionization/Manifold for Multiple CI Gases Organization: * I have found a mixture of methylamine and methane to be very useful for compounds that yield no molecular weight information with either isobutane, methane, or ammonia. We routinely use a variety of gases for chemical ionization depending on the type of compound. To facilitate the switching of gases, we built a very easy to use manifold. Documentation on both of these topics can be found at: "A Little Mass Spectrometry and Sailing": http://users.intermediatn.net/slittle If you have used methylamine or have a home-built CI manifold, I would be interested in hearing your experiences.
