In particular we are interested in the lower end. Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely, Geoff Wainwright. We use it routinely for calibrating for chemicals (not proteins). It gives nice clusters up to 3000-3500 and no signifiant isotope effects. /N ****************************************************************************** From: "rat" Date: Fri, 20 Feb 1998 14:44:25 +1100 Subject: Re: Calibration Organization: Monash Uni Hi all, Try NaI:CsI in 50:50 Isopropanol:water. NaI should be at 2ug/ml, CsI at 0.05ug/ml. I have calibrated my Plaform up to 4000 m/z with this solution. Good luck. I found in the literature people using PEG diacid 600 in FAB and ESI. Unfortunatelly I cannot find any supplier for this compound (Aldrich/Sigma). Any suggestions? There are several choices. We have used PEG sulfates (can't buy them -- have to synthesize them), Ultramark 1621 (sticky, problem with memory efects), Ivory liquid dishwashing soap, and sodium TFA clusters. The latter was described by Mehdi Moini in a recent paper in Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. Ultramark 1621 and Ivory liquid reference masses are given on our web site (www.jeol.com). Also, Dr. Fujiwara at Monsanto has used derivatized glyphosates with good success. This work was described in Rapid Communications in Mass Spec. a few years ago. Sorry I don't have the exact references...I'm at home right now). Chip Cody (JEOL) -- "For purposes of ...
