GSF serves many roles in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The students on the committee represent student concerns at faculty meetings, run a student seminar series, organize the annual Sherry Lecture, and plan a variety of departmental functions. GSF is also responsible for bringing in speakers to discuss career options and industry experiences. All graduate students in the department are encouraged to talk to committee members and participate in GSF activities.
